After a hard hike to the top, I like to enjoy the quiet, sensational view. Like any reward, there’s most likely some hard work required.
Totally awesome video. Loved the experiential metaphor of climbing a mountain. You are an inspiring force.
Warmly,
Sharon
Thank you for the reminder! My personal mountain is rather figurative right now: I am trying to change locations and be closer to my family, which means I need a new job. In a different country, on a different continent, in a system where I have hardly any contacts or any network. Yes, I can often hear my heart beating, too, but because I’m nervous about uprooting myself. But you’re so right: if you stick with it, not only will you have the great outcome of a goal achieved; you’ll also have the confidence that comes with having made it through difficult times. And that is SO MUCH FUN:-).
After my “epic” hike with you some of the challenges in my life didn’t seem so tough! I loved that pushing myself to do something I’ve never done before could give me that strength!
This is good perspective on life. We know if we work hard we can get to the summit. It may take some huffing and puffing but the view is so worth it.
Agree wholeheartedly. You know my biggest hill at the moment. I’m working on it and hope to enjoy the rewards like we do every time we hike together. I always value your advice and motivation. Thanks!
Thanks for the good reminder, Shelli. Your charge reminds me a bit of the Theodore Roethke quote, “I find my way by going where I have to go.” And, where I have to go is usually up the mountain!
Being from the NW and thinking about going “off trail”. Be sure to have your 10 essentials (11 if you count the chocolate covered espresso beans!) so you can be safe and come out the other end with an epic story of adventure. So, Shelli, what’re my “10 Essentials” to keep me safe for this journey to learn a new language???
YEEHAW!!!
Can’t wait for my climb with you, pal 🙂
Yes, lately I’ve been dancing in front of and with the kids in my classroom on our fun music breaks. I’m with you and Ellen DeG-get out of the comfort zone now and then with something or other. You’ll lay in bed at night reflecting on those moments and just fall in love with yourself and your courage.
Well, I do anyway!
Keep on climbin’ girl!
Thanks for the great video, Shelli! Your passion inspires me to choose the bigger life!
Okay, snow is melting and the 1st day of spring is approaching! I am getting anxious to get in the mountains, work hard and love it!
