epic talks

We are in a time of great change and uncertainty. It’s as if we’re standing at the edge of a vast wilderness, for which we have no map or guidebook. Leaders have to find a way to lead their organizations and their people through these wilds and there is no path laid out in front of us to follow. Leaders must find their own way, chart a new path. They need to be Wayfinders.

In the last 13 years, Shelli has coached hundreds of leaders, ranging from artists and entrepreneurs to C-suite level leaders of global companies. She has learned so much from her work with leaders and their organizations, and from her own life and leadership experiences. In her keynote presentation, "Epic Leadership Lessons Learned in the Field," Shelli shares stunning wilderness images and stories about leaders she has taken into the wilderness and lessons learned along the way. These lessons are metaphors for the skills we need to live and lead a more meaningful and inspired life and to be a more purposeful and impactful leader. The presentation will light a fire in you and cause you to reflect on your life and your leadership. It will inspire you to live and lead more intentionally and courageously.

Shelli has been hired to present to Prudential, Stellantis/Fiat-Chrysler, Publicis, Turner Networks, Johnson & Johnson, Michigan State Police, YMCA, CrowdStrike, ICF Next, Arrow Exterminators, Dorsey-Alston Real Estate, and more.

"Shelli engaged Agile Boston with a story about leadership, reaching deep inside, and growing as a person - all the necessities for what she terms "living an epic life." It was an outstanding, inspiring presentation! Shelli took her audience through her experiences of going on epic adventures in the wilderness with a group of leaders. She easily and effectively conveyed all the subtleties of the personal discoveries that go along with learning about the different forms of leadership in such a setting. I was struck by how Shelli's message is derived from her own life experiences, how universal and attainable her message is, and how perfectly aligned her message was with her audience's interests: putting people first, open and honest communications, and working together as a team. Shelli is authentic, her energy is contagious, and I am grateful to have met her! I highly recommend Shelli Johnson!"

Stephen Daukas, B.S.E., M.Sc., CSM, CSPO

"Shelli gave a presentation at our Girls in Tech Boston / FounderMatchup event that blew everyone away. It was one of the most inspiring stories I've ever heard. She talked about overcoming odds and team building from her experience building and launching YellowstonePark.com. And then she talked about her NOLS expedition in Alaska and their similarities and lessons she took from both EPIC experiences.

She has a great perspective on life and I admire what she's done greatly. I plan to bring my team to Wyoming for a team building expedition."

Marsh Sutherland

CEO & Co-Founder ReferralBonus & SocialGrow

"I had the distinct pleasure of meeting Shelli at the Girls in Tech event in Boston. Shelli was the keynote speaker for the event and I was immediately mesmerized by her warm smile and inviting personality. She kicked off the event by talking about what it means to live your life by being epic and her talk was pure inspiration… A few quotes from Shelli really resonated with me: “Movement isn’t progress if you’re going in the wrong direction.” Amen. “Sometimes you need to pause and acknowledge your successes and your failures before you move on.” Great advice. “We are more than our skills. You have one life. Make it epic.” After the talk, she had a line-up of founders waiting to talk to her more and bounce ideas off her. She shares her inspiration from the heart and I would highly recommend her for any speaking engagements or events where you want to provide motivation for a crowd. She delivers!"

Michelle A Heath

Matthew Byron

"I was lucky enough to go to Shelli's keynote speech at the Boston Girls in Tech/FoundersMatchup event and was highly moved and inspired. Every word she said and every picture she showed made me want to get up and do something, something more than what I am doing. There were so many layers to her presentation; her intellect in showing the strong correlations between epic outdoor adventures and founding a start-up, her command over the topic (both adventure and entrepreneurship), her ability to relate to people easily, and her passion for what ever she does, were all extremely moving. Obviously, left the whole room inspired. Yes, I was lucky to be there that evening."

Kshama Ananthapura

"After hearing Shelli deliver an engaging presentation at the eTourism Summit about using social media as an early adopter, she instantly raised awareness about the vast possibilities overlooked by many. She has a keen sense of technology and knows how to apply new media to deliver an entertaining and educational experience. As a speaker, I value content and delivery, and Shelli clearly knows how to captivate an audience with touching stories that showcase her knowledge. The only drawback is you'll have to wait in a long line to speak to her after her inspiring presentations. ;)"

Robyn K. Levin

"Shelli kept everyone spellbound while speaking at an Olympic Peninsula Tourism Summit group near Seattle recently. She has an expertise in very effectively showing online/live how social media can drive traffic to a business."

Mike Kenna

Founder/President, Printery Communications

"Shelli is an excellent and dynamic speaker who embodies the positive, informative nature of online social media. Shelli was the keynote speaker at the 2009 Olympic Peninsula Tourism Conference. She delivered an engaging and informative presentation that demonstrated - in real time - how social media technologies can impact destinations and businesses.

The audience of business owners and tourism professionals was deeply impressed with Shelli. Her personal and professional experiences were integrated smartly into her presentation, and she was able to speak simultaneously to destination marketing novices as well as seasoned professionals. To cap it off, she spent 1.5 days executing what is perhaps the most jam-packed travel itinerary ever conceived on Washington's Olympic Peninsula, setting the standard for all future visitors!"

Keven Elliff

Owner, Principal, Windridge Solutions

"I had the pleasure of seeing Shelli's talk on building the Ultimate Website presented at EyeForTravel's Online Marketing Strategies conference in Miami. Of all the talks, Shelli's was the most memorable and enjoyable -- by far.

While many conference participants spent much of their time on Blackberries and laptops, I don't think a single person could focus on anything else but Shelli during her talk. She is such a pleasure to listen to as she shares many personal but relevant stories and photos.

…Aside from her obvious business know-how, she is just a delight to listen to and be around.

…I absolutely recommend bringing her in to your companies to discuss her methods and success. She has a wealth of advice and knowledge that should continue to be shared."

"Shelli spoke at the Olympic Peninsula Tourism Summit for 2009 in Sequim, WA. She gave the closing presentation about using advanced technology for marketing and tourism. She is a wealth of knowledge and is a high energy presenter with a warm smile. Her years of experience have proven she walks-the-walk and can talk-the-talk. Anyone attending her presentations will come away with a great ideas for their own business."

Ron Gilles

President/Designated Broker at Professional Real Estate

"Shelli presented at an online marketing conference targeted at the travel industry, to which I attended. Her presentation stood apart from the others - it was captivating, detail oriented, and targeted directly at her immediate audience.

During the presentation, she used several methods of media to enhance the session as well as clarify key points in her discussion. It was fun learning about her progress and work during the conference session as well as in-between times when we had the opportunity to speak.

Shelli is clearly a subject matter expert in her field and, unlike many, is willing to happily share her information and ideas in a transparent fashion with any who are willing to engage the conversation.

I look forward to working with Shelli in the near future on some of my company projects; I feel that she would be an incredible asset on a number of different programs across many different subjects. She is a true pleasure to work with."
